MEHA is proud to offer scholarships to talented public health and environmental health students and professionals. We offer two scholarships annually:
Tuition scholarships to two (2) deserving graduate or doctoral students who are MEHA members. The purpose of the scholarship program is to encourage early commitment by students to pursue a career in Environmental Health and Public Health. Preference is given to applicants who indicate that they intend to work, or are currently working as sanitarians/environmental health professionals. Applicants can attend any accredited university of their choosing. Applicants must have earned/completed at least 12 graduate credit hours at a U.S. accredited university before applying for the scholarship and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Emerging Professional Scholarship
This purpose of this scholarship is to support emerging (typically those in their first 5 years of public health practice) public health professionals who are passionate about current public health challenges and those who are interested in discovering innovative solutions to these issues. MEHA promotes and fosters the high standards of attainment for the professional registered environmental health specialist and other environmental health certifications. Allowing new professionals to discuss current and looming environmental health issues, engage in environmental trainings, and build lasting networks is a pillar for what MEHA stands for. Previous scholarships have included the provision of REHS/RS and CP-FS online practice exams, coverage of attendance at the National Environmental Health Association’s Annual Education Conference.
