MEHA Ambassador Program

The Massachusetts Environmental Health Association (MEHA) Ambassador Program aims to promote careers in public and environmental health among high school and college students. Many students may not know about career opportunities in the field of public and environmental health. The goal is to encourage the next generation to enter the public and environmental health field. MEHA Ambassadors are public health and environmental health professionals interested in creating a career pathway for students.

CMRPC Public Health Training Manager, Mishel Caisapanta is a MEHA Ambassador, along with James Starbard, Regional Director from RCAP, Michael Mendez, Environmental Health Manager from the Framingham Public Health Department, and Steven Ward, MEHA Board Member.

They conducted a presentation at Worcester State University and provided an overview of the roles of local and environmental health. During the presentation they discussed employment, internship opportunities and credentials in the field. At the end of their presentation, they answered questions from students and faculty staff. As MEHA Ambassadors, they are excited to continue this work among Central Massachusetts and make an impact for the next generation.
