Director, Division of Violence and Injury Prevention:
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an experienced public health professional to provide strategic and visionary leadership for the Division of Violence and Injury Prevention within the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention (BCHAP). With a staff of 18 and a total budget of over $28M, the Division of Violence and Injury Prevention (DVIP) and its programs work to prevent injuries and violence, and to promote and provide effective response systems for those impacted. The terms “violence” and “injury” encompass a number of issues that include child and youth violence, gun violence, public health approaches to public safety, suicide and self-inflicted injury, and unintentional injuries such as drowning, suffocation, sports injuries, fire and burn injuries, motor vehicle crashes, older adult falls, and poisonings. These programs/initiatives are structured into three major units: Injury Prevention and Control Program (focusing on unintentional injury), Suicide Prevention Unit, and the Child and Youth Violence Prevention Unit. DPH is seeking a strong leader to help coalesce, align, and synergize DVIP and DPH’s violence and injury prevention programs for a systemic approach to prevention, intervention, and healing centered approaches. TeleSANE 1:
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program is a national leader and innovator in providing trauma-informed, forensic nursing care to sexual assault patients through its in-person SANE and Pediatric SANE Programs, and its pioneering TeleSANE programs. The MA SANE Program acknowledges the history of structural racism in the U.S. and its impact on health outcomes, as well as sexual violence. We are committed to improving the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents while eliminating the inequities that threaten the lives of communities of color who are disproportionately affected by sexual violence. The TeleSANE Program seeks a dedicated and dynamic individual to join the TeleNursing Center staff as a TeleSANE I. This is an entry-level position working under the direction of the TeleSANE Associate Director (SANE IV) to help support operations of TeleSANE services at MDPH-designated TeleSANE sites. This position provides direct TeleSANE care, helps to optimize maximum efficiency, and ensure quality of TeleSANE services.
