The Town of Lexington seeks a seasoned Public Health Director with recent experience as a local public health director or three or more years as a second-in-command. Under the general direction of the Assistant Town Manager for Development, this full-time (35 hours/week) position is responsible for developing, managing and assessing comprehensive Environmental Health, Community Health and Public Health Emergency Preparedness programs. Supervises 2.5 full-time equivalents as well as various vendors brought in for special projects.
Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Biology or Chemistry and three to five (3-5) years of experience in public health or environmental health administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as an Environmental Health Specialist or Sanitarian (REHS/RS) preferred.
