The Town of Needham’s Public Health Division seeks engaged individuals for the grant-funded position of Environmental Health Trainer, Special Assignment Support. This role will provide training to local public health professionals throughout eastern Massachusetts from the MA/NH border south to Dover/Sherborn, MA, on effectively enforcing State/Federal Environmental and Sanitary Codes, Town by-laws, and Board of Health Regulations. The Environmental Health Trainer will also instruct local public health professionals on how to ensure compliance, and communicate health information to the public, as well as assist with program development.
This program, launched by the State in 2023, aims to ensure all local public health agencies have the tools to understand and implement the same standards to create a 21st century public health system delivering services that meet the needs of all members of the community, regardless of race, income, or zip code, increasing equity of services provided.
